A Love of Flowers

I come from a family filled with generations of flower lovers.
Both of my grandmothers had substantial cutting gardens, and my parents followed in their paths with a beautiful garden space that they’ve painstakingly created over the years.
Growing up, I remember being sent to the garden to create centerpieces no matter the time of year. Spring and summer were abundant with flowers to choose from, and winter was the perfect time to appreciate how to work with just the textural greens of the Pacific Northwest. This was the beginning of my floral education, and I carry these lessons with me in my designs today.
A Business Grown With Care
As a long time Orcas Island resident, I started my floral career with a local flower cart simply to support my floral habit. In 2000 I had the opportunity to open Nest as a floral boutique in Eastsound, and soon realized a larger space was needed. The perfect large space for Nest was found, and I spent many years there creating florals for every event imaginable, as well as running the retail shop and providing day-of event coordination.
The desire to downsize came in 2020, and I shifted to become a studio florist focusing solely on weddings, special events and day-of coordinating. I also get to fulfill my other passion of gardening with a cutting garden located behind my studio. I love being able to source the freshest, Orcas-grown flowers to complete each arrangement and bouquet.
